As part of the Singapore Blog Awards 2015's fringe activity, a beauty workshop held by Panasonic & Omy.sg took place last Saturday at Panasonic Singapore Event Hall. Attended my first beauty event (since I missed the previous one... or two?) with my plus one, Sylvia!
Bryan Gan, better known as Bryan老师, was the guest speaker for the day. He's been on all three seasons of 女人我最大, Ladies First (Singapore's version). I watch 女人我最大, Queen (Taiwan's version) almost everyday so I was interested to find out what new things/ information will be shared during the event!
It started off with a breathing exercise that can help to activate and awaken the stem cells in our skin (Normally, the cells start to 'sleep' after turning 19). It's a simple exercise that requires one minute, day and night. Such a steal to get good skin? You just have to remember it as the 4-7-8 breathing exercise.
"Exhale/ Inhale for 4 seconds/ Hold your breath for 7 seconds/ Exhale for 8 seconds."
It sounds really easy but most people were 'out of breath' during the exercise. Doing this exercise can aid in achieving brighter skin and also increase the lung capacity.
Panasonic items were also introduced to us during the workshop.
Introducing and demonstrating the facial roller that can be used on the face/ neck/ arms/ legs/ stomach. Comes with two attachments! I haven't tried this Panasonic facial roller so I can't mention about the grip but it has temperature settings which is definitely a huge plus point. I have tried similar rollers from different brands that are available in market. Works really well but the price can easily be three to four times the price of Panasonic's and some can hit up to S$1000 (and they come without temperature settings).
DIY healthy drink: You can find the corn silk after peeling away the leaves of a fresh corn. Have it twice every week (the amount in the picture can make about 2-3 cups). Helps with water retention around eye area.
Another way to remove water retention is acupressure. Just one thumb above the belly button, press the point for 6 seconds before letting go. Repeat it for about ten times, it can help to get rid of excess water in the body. The facial roller (smaller attachment) can also be used on the stomach to reduce water retention. (Use it on small kids to reduce bloatedness!)
Panasonic Eye Warming Massager, also designed to moisture eye area by emitting warm steam as well as two different vibration modes to relieve eye strain.
Tips for those who has difficulty sleeping: Draw an imaginery line from the middle of your pinky and ring finger to the wrist. This exercise is supposed to help you fall asleep faster. You can pair this with the warming massager before you sleep.
Next up, Panasonic Facial Cool Putter- reaches about 15℃ and instantly cools and tightens skin. I believe it helps with water retention around eye area since it is similar to the method of putting the spoon on the eye to reduce puffiness (probably now that you don't have to freeze your spoon anymore).
Special treatment on the skin contact surface to prevent metal allergy.
Lastly, Panasonic Compact Facial Steamer that emits nano particle ion steam and provide deep moisture retention. This can help to increase firmness and suppleness. Doing facial steaming regularly (once to twice a week) can help to reduce facial oil and sebum as well as refine pores for smoother skin. Highly advisable! Since you can't put essential oil INTO the facial steamer, Bryan老师 attached a cotton pad using scotch tape as pictured #lifehacks. Different types of essential oil can be chosen according to individual's needs.
