Taipei Fine Arts Museum

 Taipei Fine Arts Museum

One afternoon, we stumbled upon this place. It wasn't a planned visit but ended up there because the children's theme park shifted, our plan flopped hence, impromptu visit to the Fine Arts Museum. I really loved the exhibition, so glad that we discovered this place. Entrance fee was only NT$30 (barely SGD$1.50) for students and you get to explore all the exhibitions. My favourite has to be 'Lee Mingwei and His Relations: The Art of Participation' which was the first that we visited.

One of my favourite: The Mending Project. Basically everyone can bring anything that they want to mend, leave it at the place until the end of exhibition as a contribution. At the end of the exhibition (6th September 2015), they get to bring back their belongings that has already been mended for them. I thought it was a pretty good way to interact. Anyway, there are threads extending from the wall to all the items on the table if you take a closer look at the second picture.

Another one of my favourite, The Letter Writing Project. All these envelopes that are placed nicely are those written by others who's visited. I looked at some of the envelopes- people wrote to themselves, someone whom they miss dearly, basically anyone.

Some of his other works at the exhibition:

Till the next, x
